Along the Oregon Trail to Salt Lake City

I set off after  coffee at Wendy's, which was all that was open and had only been traveling for an hour, when I hit the wall. 2 nights of not much sleep and earl starts took its toll. I had called Kate to say I was on my way, but I had to call again and say I might be stopping off soon. I knew that if I didn't get  some caffeine, I wasn't going to make it.

 I

I pulled over at a place called Glenns Ferry, a staging spot on the Oregon Trail for wagons to cross the Snake River.

There was a lovely large mural depicting this crossing and a few old wagons parked just outside the cafe.

The owner kept pouring me coffee until I recovered. I wish I had been hungry as it looked fantastic.

Once I set off again, I got my second wind and made it down to Kate's house in 1 go.

After a glass or two of wine, Kate arranged for me to stay at her friend's house as Kate's daughter Hattie was staying in the only available guest bed. The new accommodation was just around the corner, so I left the trailer at Kate's and had a comfortable (and warm) night's lodging at Janette's

We set off after breakfast to the Natural History Museum of Utah to see the 1st Peoples exhibit, and the Dinosaur collection. Wow Wow and more Wow. Here are a few photos of both, but these did not do either justice.

The Sun was out so we went for lunch al fresco.

Veggie Eggs Benedict with tomato and Acocado ♥️♥️
